Shuswap Pre-School Program

All our staff are highly skilled and each one brings unique talents to our team. Planning for our weekly learning themes is done together and everyone contributes ideas for activities and experiences.

We have a structured schedule for our daily routines, but because we recognize the importance of being spontaneous we are flexible. When a child shows an interest we like to expand upon it for the whole group and make it into a learning experience.

We pride ourselves in our open, warm environment. Parents are always encouraged to visit and share with the children and staff.

Savala Axell

Early Childhood Educator 

We are very excited to have Savala moving over from our main centre 3-5 year old program to the pre-school program. Savala has her Early Childhood Education certification as well as her Infant & Toddler certification and has been employed by the Society since May 2016. Savala has over 7 years experience in the Early Childhood field, she loves being interactive with the children and developing bonds with each child. Savala loves to have fun and plans many messy and fun activities. She challenges the children to think, problem solve and be creative. Savala’s passion is program planning and ensures the program is exciting, play based and provides opportunities for the children to learn and grow. 

 

 

Colleen Paetsch

 Early Childhood Educator Assistant

Colleen has been employed with the Society since May of 2016. Colleen has been working in the Pre-School / Out of School Program since September 2022. Colleen enjoys being creative with the children, making fun memories through imaginative play and discovery. Colleen has many years of experience working with children including being a mom to 4 now grown children. Colleen is very creative and enjoys creating a welcoming environment filled with laughter and positive energy.
